U.S. News & World Report to develop a well-curated and vetted list of the nation’s premier
law firms using a rigorous selection process — the annual “Best
Law Firms” was the result. All qualifying firms are assigned a “Best
Law Firms” score based on client testimonials, peer regard, past
successes, knowledge, experience, and any other insight into a firm’s
work detailed in submission packets and lawyer ballots. With all of these
factors in mind, as well as practice area and geographic region, firms
are ranked according to three tiers, with Tier 1 at the very top.
To be considered for “Best Law Firms,” at least one lawyer
at the firm must be a listee in the latest edition of
The Best Lawyers in America©, a list similarly cultivated by Best Lawyers® that focuses on the
attorneys themselves rather than their employers. This is a difficult
standard to meet, as only 6% of practicing lawyers from coast to coast
were recognized in the 2021 Edition of
The Best Lawyers in America©, each having to pass a meticulous, multi-part review process to
be approved for inclusion.
