Personal Life and Education
Partner-Attorney Jeff Gibson of Wagner Reese was born in Shelbyville, Indiana but spent much of his youth in Mississippi and Tennessee. He returned to Indiana to attend Indiana University, where he earned his B.A. in 1997. Only three years later in 2000, he completed his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis. Attorney Gibson is currently admitted to practice in various jurisdictions, including the State of Indiana, five United States District Courts, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
In his spare time, Jeff can probably be found spending time with his family, including watching his kids play several youth sports. He is also a lifelong IU fan, so you might find him attending an IU men’s basketball or football game with his family.
Legal Career and Expertise
Throughout his many years of legal practice, Jeff has made a reputation for himself as a legal leader. He has served as a leader for several drug and medical device litigation steering committees including: Chair of the non-party discovery committee In re Prempro Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 4:03-CV-1507; Chair of the bellwether discovery program In re Consolidated Fresenius Cases (GranuFlo) pending in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Middlesex County, MICV2013-3400-O; national coordinating counsel in infusion pain pump cases, where no MDL existed; Plaintiff’s Steering Committee for Zofran (Ondansetron) Products Liability Litigation MDL No. 2657.
He is currently a member of multiple Steering Committees for Multi-District Litigation including In Re Johnson and Johnson Talcum Powder Litigation, Sales Practice and Product Liability Litigation MDL 2738 and In Re VALSARTAN N-NITROSODIMETHYLAMINE (NDMA) PRODUCTS LIABILITY LITIGATION MDL 2875.

Mr. Gibson is a member of a national alliance of sexual abuse lawyers who dedicate their practice to representing survivors and victims of child sexual abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. AbuseGuardian.com has awarded the Indiana Abuse Guardian title to Wagner Reese: Jeff Gibson, Esq.
In addition to medical and pharmaceutical litigation, Jeff regularly represents victims of sexual violence. His experience includes representing and assisting Olympic level athletes, clergy abuse victims, and residential treatment facility patients. Jeff and his colleagues at Wagner Reese strongly believe that survivors of sexual violence can provide a face and platform to those silenced for so many years. They are actively representing people hurt by sexual violence and intend to right the wrongs committed for decades.
Professional Contributions and Achievements
Attorney Gibson is also a recognized legal author, having multiple pieces published in legal journals. He has been given numerous opportunities to act as a keynote speaker for legal conferences and seminars, including Mass Torts Made Perfect, National Business Institute Continuing Legal Education, and Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Jeff also acts as a member of the National Crime Victim Bar Association, which is dedicated to representing crime victims in civil actions.
Some of his most notable professional achievements include being selected several times as a Super Lawyers® and Super Lawyers® Rising Stars member. He was also recognized by the National Trial Lawyer Association “40 Under 40” award. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Indiana Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association.
