A home is more than a place to sleep — it is the foundation of everything a family builds together. This spring, the team at Wagner Reese had the opportunity to help lay that foundation for a family right here in Indianapolis.

In partnership with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity, 17 members of the Wagner Reese firm participated in two community build days on March 25 and May 8. Attorneys, staff, and team members worked side-by-side on a new home for a local family, contributing hands-on labor to a project that will have a lasting impact on the lives of those who will call it home.
The new homeowner is a mother of three children, and her vision for what this home means is both simple and profound: “My goals are to give my kids a secure place to grow, learn, and feel loved.”
Her words resonated deeply with everyone on the build site. At Wagner Reese, we spend every day advocating for families who have faced serious challenges — people navigating loss, injury, and uncertainty. The chance to contribute something tangible to a family’s future, beyond the walls of a courtroom, felt like a natural extension of that mission.

Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity has long been a cornerstone of affordable homeownership in central Indiana, helping hardworking families achieve stability and put down roots in their communities. We are grateful to have joined that work this year and to have played even a small role in making one family’s dream of homeownership a reality.
Community has always been at the core of who we are as a firm. We believe that advocacy means showing up — not just when a client walks through our door, but in the neighborhoods where people are raising their children, rebuilding their lives, and working toward something better. These two build days were a reminder of why that work matters.
We look forward to continuing to find ways to give back to the Indianapolis community and to the people who trust us to stand beside them when it counts most.
