Indianapolis Personal Injury Attorneys

Have you or a loved one been the victim of a personal injury as a result of the negligence of another person, business, or entity?

If so, it was probably an accident, and that means it came as a surprise to you and your loved ones.  It has likely disrupted your life and those around you on many levels – possibly disrupting your home life, causing you to miss work, and subjecting you to pain and suffering.

These disruptions, along with worrying about medical treatment and recovery, can be extremely stressful. The last thing you want to worry about is trying to deal with an insurance adjuster or insurance company.

Accidents happen every hour of every day.  3 to 4 car crashes, or motor vehicle accidents, happen every hour.  Slip and fall accidents are at the top of the list of reasons for emergency room visits every year – almost 9,000,000 in 2011 – and are the 2nd most frequent cause of accidental death. Over 4,000,000 Americans are bitten by dogs each year, and over 850,000 are severe enough to require medical treatment, and more than 25,000 required plastic surgery due to a dog bite.

These are just a few of the types of situations that can result in a personal injury case; while they occur unexpectedly, they happen on a daily basis, and may leave you with a lot of uncertainties.

This case on behalf of a child was settled against a daycare provider after an unsecured TV fell on top of her.

This settlement was brought against a hotel for building code violations when a young mother fell and severely injured her arm.

This case against a commercial property owner was settled after a young woman was kidnapped from a parking garage and sexually assaulted.

  • Call or email Wagner Reese for help with you or your loved one’s personal injury claim

After sustaining an unexpected personal injury, you are going to have a lot of questions, and you are not alone.  The CDC reports that serious death and injuries happen every minute of every day, which means thousands of lives and families are impacted, and these deaths and injuries strike without warning and can leave you searching for answers.  How much is my case worth?  Am I going to miss work?  How is this going to impact my family?  Am I going to be able to get the medical treatment I need?  Who is going to pay my medical bills?  These are all normal questions, but can be overwhelming.

At Wagner Reese, the lawyers have decades of experience, and are Indiana personal injury lawyers who handle Indiana personal injury cases from all over the state.  Wagner Reese has helped clients from Northern Indiana, with South Bend personal injury claims, everywhere in between, all the way to Southern Indiana, with Evansville personal injury claims.

Indiana Personal Injury Facts

  • The statute of limitations on a personal injury case in Indiana is two years. Any case filed after the statute of limitations is up may result in the client receiving no compensation.
  • Personal Injury occurs when another person, business or entity fails to use reasonable care or practices in their activity and is negligent for the injury.
  • When calculating the value amount of a personal injury award, the insurance company and courts will consider the potential value of six factors for the individual injured:
    • Medical Expenses
    • Future Medical Expenses
    • Lost Wages
    • Pain & Suffering
    • Permanent Disfigurement
    • Mental Anguish

While Wagner Reese understands that these situations are generally unintentional accidents, don’t let the insurance company avoid paying you the compensation you deserve.  Attempting to settle your own personal injury case could result in more unnecessary stress for you and your loved ones, and even worse, trying to handle it yourself could result in you trying to take on a large insurance company yourself and getting low offers.

Instead, focus on your health and your family, and entrust your Indiana personal injury case to a team of experienced lawyers who will help you fight against insurance companies, and receive the maximum amount of compensation you deserve for your medical bills, lost wages and disruptions in your life.  Contact Wagner Reese today, and let the professional staff and personal injury lawyers help you.

A Note About Recovery Limits

In 2012, Indiana put a compensation cap on non-economic based damages. For personal injury cases in the state of Indiana, any case paid by the government may not exceed an award of $5,000,000. The Indiana Supreme Court is currently contesting this cap as unconstitutional, so these limits may soon be abolished.
