Jason R. Reese has devoted his entire legal career to representing victims of personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death. Mr. Reese grew up in Northwest Indiana. He attended the University of Arizona on academic scholarship and graduated at the top of his class, magna cum laude. Mr. Reese received his law degree with honors from Indiana University School of Law--Bloomington in 1997. During law school, he was recognized for both academic success in the classroom, and his aggressiveness in the Court room. He clerked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office - Felony Trial Division in Chicago, Illinois and was a recognized leader on the school’s trial advocacy teams.
After law school, Mr. Reese first practiced with a prominent Lake County law firm, honing his skills in the areas of personal injury and malpractice litigation. He also volunteered pro bono for the U.S. Federal Public Defender's Office defending Spanish-speaking criminal defendants. Mr. Reese was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Lake County Bar Association.
In 1998, Mr. Reese moved to Indianapolis and soon thereafter, in 2000, formed Wagner Reese, LLP. Over the past 14+ years, the firm has continued to provide aggressive representation to families across the country. Mr. Reese has successfully tried several personal injury cases to juries and judges in various counties throughout the State of Indiana. He is currently a member of the American Association for Justice and, for the past decade, has served as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. For several years, Mr. Reese participated in the prestigious American Sagamore Inn of Court as a Barrister and served on the Executive Committee of the Indianapolis Bar Association Litigation Section.
Mr. Reese is involved in several pro bono and community activities in the Indianapolis area. He is the Past President of the Board of Directors for Centerpoint Counseling, a not-for-profit organization that provides free counseling services to family and children in Marion County. He is a member of the Westminister Legal Services team and serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic. The Clinic is a faith-based, non-profit organization that provides critically-needed legal services to over 14,000 low-income Hoosier families per year.
Mr. Reese has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one the best. At the 2003 annual Indiana State Bar Association convention, Mr. Reese was recognized as the "Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year" for his excellence as a lawyer committed to his profession and the community. Mr. Reese has been repeatedly named an Indiana Super Lawyer and was recognized by attorneys throughout the State as a lawyer in the top 5% of his practice areas as recently published in Indianapolis Monthly and Super Lawyer magazines. In 2007, Mr. Reese was name "Forty Under Forty" by the Indianapolis Business Journal as one the most dynamic business and community leaders in the Indianapolis metro area. More recently, Mr. Reese was named a Fellow by the Indiana Bar Foundation, and in 2013, named “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” by The National Trial Lawyers. He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and rated a superb “10.0” rating as a Medical Malpractice Attorney by AVVO.
Mr. Reese recently obtained a $1.1 million jury verdict in Richmond, Indiana on behalf of a mother that lost her baby due to alleged medical malpractice. The defense never made any settlement offers, but ended up paying the full verdict, plus significant pre-judgment interest on top of the verdict.
Mr. Reese has handled high-profile cases throughout the States of Indiana and Illinois, and has been interviewed by affiliate stations for NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX networks. Mr. Reese has been aggressively serving clients throughout Indiana, Illinois and Nationwide for almost 20 years. Mr. Reese’s primary areas of practice focus on catastrophic personal injury, professional malpractice, and wrongful death claims. Mr. Reese and his wife (and law school sweetheart), Jill, live in Carmel with their three children.
