Houston Hum grew up in Arkansas and moved to Indianapolis after earning his degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame in 2007. During his time at Notre Dame, he received the prestigious Tara K. Deutsch Award, recognizing his dedication to social consciousness and helping the less fortunate. He went on to earn his law degree with honors from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2013, where he was selected to the Moot Court Order of the Barristers and competed in multiple national competitions.

Before attending law school, Mr. Hum earned his CPA license and worked in the tax department of a Big Four accounting firm. His background in finance and accounting provides him with a strong analytical approach to handling complex legal matters. He is admitted to practice in all Indiana state courts, both United States District Courts in Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

For more than a decade, Mr. Hum worked as a civil defense attorney at two well-regarded Indianapolis law firms. He earned a reputation for vigorously defending cases while maintaining compassion for those involved. Over the years, he has built strong relationships with insurance companies and attorneys on both sides of the legal spectrum. His expertise includes accident investigations, particularly involving trucks, and successfully handling cases related to personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, construction defects, toxic substance exposure, and professional malpractice.

His skills and dedication have earned him multiple recognitions, including selection as a Rising Star by Indiana’s Super Lawyers Magazine in 2022 and 2023—an honor awarded to only 2.5% of eligible attorneys. He was also recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for his work in product liability litigation and transportation law.
