What Does It Mean to Be Part of Super Lawyers®?
Super Lawyers® organizes an annual rating system for lawyers and attorneys of various practices and specialties. Super Lawyers® members are formally nominated by their peers before being selected based on their professional achievements. The rigorous, patented selection process involves 12 indicators of success and outstanding professional merit, as well as independent research and peer evaluations.
Before the final selection, each candidate’s standing is verified with their local licensing authority and checked for a clean record of disciplinary or criminal proceedings. The lawyers are grouped into four categories based on firm size to ensure fair competition, and the final list of Super Lawyers® members represents no more than 5% of all practicing attorneys in each state.
To be a Rising Stars℠ member, an attorney must go through the same intense selection process and be held to the same high standards. The key difference is Rising Stars℠ members must also be under the age of 40, or have less than 10 years of practice experience. The increased restrictions on membership means no more than 2.5% of all lawyers in each state can be Rising Stars℠ members for a given year.
The list of Super Lawyers® appears annually in the state edition of Super Lawyers® Magazine, as well as in city and regional newspapers and publications. The list serves as a helpful resource for consumers who need a lawyer to provide counsel or representation. We are so proud of all our attorneys who have made the cut, often repeatedly, and they are so honored to be recognized by such an outstanding organization.
