Identity of Amtrak Worker Released
A worker was killed at the Amtrak facility in Beech Grove last Saturday, and the coroner has just released the identity of the man.
Andrew Swanson, 27-year-old Fishers resident was reportedly injured in an industrial accident at the facility around 11:30 last Saturday. Emergency responders were called to the scene and found Swanson suffering with severe burn injuries.
He was immediately transported to the Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center at Ezkenazi Health, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
The Amtrak President and CEO, Joe Boardman, sent an email to the employees of Amtrak, urging them to focus on safety and make use of the companies resources to recover from the trauma of losing a friend and co-worker. He said, “We are conducting a full investigation so that we learn from what happened and can take the necessary actions to prevent another such incident.”
