2-Year-Old Girl Killed at Always Shining Hand Car Wash
Tragedy struck the northwest side of Indianapolis last Sunday evening when a2-year-old girl was killed by a teenage driver.
According to reports, the police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor, and that the incident was truly accidental, but blood tests were performed on the teen as part of standard procedure.
The accident happened when the owner of the Always Shining Hand Car Wash brought his 2-year-old daughter to work with him on Sunday. A 17-year-old employee pulled into the lot to retrieve his paycheck, and some of the children present were playing in the parking lot. The teen slowed down and acknowledged the children, waiting safely for them to pass before he pulled further. But what he thought was a clear path was still blocked by the small 2-year-old girl that was out of his sight-line.
His car then struck hit the 2-year-old, and she was killed at the scene.
Our thoughts go out to everyone involved in this accident, especially the family of the little girl who was lost.
The car wash is located at 38th and Moller Road.
