Waldo's Muttley Crew is Rebuilding
Wagner Reese has been a proud sponsor and partner of Waldo’s Muttley Crew for several years, assisting them with fundraising efforts and helping them spread the word to find homes for rescued dogs in our area.
Waldo’s Rescue has been in operation since February of 2012, and in that time, they have rescued and rehomed 320 dogs in our area. We are sad to say that they have hit a bump in their rescuing-road. In August of last year, Waldo’s received a reported complaints of barking from their neighbor in their town through, and they were advised to apply for a kennel license. Because they were on 5 acres of agriculturally-zoned land, which is the requirement for kennels in our area, they didn’t expect their license to be denied. However, in October of last year, that’s exactly what happened and the town’s commission ordered Waldo’s to remove all rescue dogs from the property and to shut down their operation within 60 days. So Waldo’s had two choices: shut down, or move.
And move is exactly what they’ve chosen to do! They have found a new piece of property on a larger section of land, that has a more-than-suitable pole barn they plan to use for a new shelter. However, the barn needs some major renovations and upgrades before it will be “up to snuff” for the pups.
Waldo’s is in the process of raising $40,000 to make the necessary renovations and get back into business as quickly as possible, and of course, we want to help and need your help as well! For every dollar you donate over the next 30 days, Wagner Reese will match it dollar for dollar up to $5,000! The matching of donations began at 12:00 am (EST), March 30th and end at 12:00 am (EST), April 30th.
You can visit Waldo’s YouCaring page to donate, and to find out more information on their relocation and the renovations already underway. Help us help Waldo’s by donating today!
