More Lawsuits Against Megabus and Bus Driver
We have reported so many megabus crashes to you over the past year, and it feels as if the news relating to these crashes never ends. The injuries caused from these megabus crashes are often so severe, and even with preventative measures like driver training and seat belts, these over-sized transportation methods are so top-heavy that their risk for rollover is incredibly high.
More lawsuits have just been filed relating to the Megabus crash that occurred last December 20th, on I-65. The crash was a result of the driver, Christopher Kelley, losing control of the bus and sliding off the roadway. The bus turned over into the median, causing several injuries to the passengers on board.
24 of the 26 passengers were released from the hospital later that day, but several injuries still occurred from the overturn of the bus. More lawsuits have recently been filed against the driver of the bus, and against the bus company itself, claiming negligence on the part of the driver, and alleging that his speed was a contributing factor in the accident. The lawsuits also claim negligence on the part of the bus company, Megabus USA LLC, and its owner, Coach USA Inc.
