LaPorte Industrial Accident Kills One Worker
A 41-year-old worker at the Markman Peat Corporation in LaPorte County, IN was pronounced dead last week after a co-worker found his body trapped inside a piece of machinery in the plant.
The man, Alejandro Anguiano was found trapped inside of a conveyor belt machine. Investigators suspect his clothing became entangled in the machinery and that he was pulled in as a result. The cause of death has been listed as “blunt force trauma”, “positional asphyxiation”, and a “broken neck”.
Anguiano was reportedly not supposed to be around the machinery, except to perhaps turn it on, as he was a payload operator and did not use that particular piece of machinery. When his co-worker found him, emergency responders were called and Anguiano was taken to LaPorte County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say there is no suspicion of foul play, and that they see no reason to continue the investigation that was labeled as an industrial accident.
