Three-Car Accident Leaves Five Injured
A three-vehicle pile-up yesterday afternoon in Seymour, Indiana left five people injured, one of them critically, and traffic backed up on I-65 near mm 50 as emergency crews funneled cars down to one lane to pass the accident.
Around 3:32 on June 14th, the driver of a green 1998 Honda Civic, Kara Terrell-Curtis, did not slow down when she approached a white Ford van in front of her. The van was slowed because they were following behind a Kenworth Tractor, and police suspect Terrell-Curtis was not aware of the reduced speed and hit the Ford van at full speed. The van was pushed forward and struck the tractor as well.
The driver of the van, Michael Moberly, a Lawrenceburg, KY resident, and three other passengers in that vehicle sustained back injuries and fractures, and were transported to the hospital by Jackson County EMS. The driver of the tractor, Jose Rodriguez, did not appear to be injured.
Terrell-Curtis had to be extricated from her vehicle by Seymour firefighters, and she was immediately transported to St. Vincent by a medical helicopter. We don’t have an update yet on her condition.
