Identity of Injured Cyclists Determined
We have an update on the story we brought you last weekend regarding the alleged drunk driver who ran over the two cyclists.
According to news reports released this weekend, the two cyclists were the Principal and Vice Principal at St. Malachy Parish School in Brownsburg, IN. The two women, Angela Bostrom & Saundra Kennison were in the midst of a 70 mile bike ride when the accident occurred. Their friends say these two avid cyclists were “full of life” and lived to serve the people around them and especially the children in their school.
Police reports say Michael Shriver, 57, ran a stop sign at State Rd. 13 and County Road 800 West last Wednesday. He struck another vehicle when he ran the stop sign, and then kept driving and struck Bostrom and Kennison. Reports say Shriver was given a field sobriety test and a pbt test and did not do well on either.
Both women were airlifted to IU Methodist with severe injuries, and are now said to be fighting for their lives.
The Malachy Parish church and school are asking everyone to pray for the condition of their friends and teachers, as they both remain in critical condition after the accident.
