Cyclists and Driver Injured After Man Runs Stop Sign
Two cyclists were seriously injured today after a 57-year-old man crashed into them, as well as into another vehicle in Fort Wayne, IN.
The accident occurred as Michael Shriver was driving westbound on CR 800 South, ran through a stop sign, and struck a vehicle heading south on SR 13. Shriver continued to drive after striking the vehicle, but then ran into the two cyclists on SR 13.
The man in the other vehicle was taken to Methodist Hospital with complaints of pain, but we don’t know of any reported injuries as of yet. The two cyclists were both seriously injured, and according to reports from witnesses at the scene, one was trapped under Shriver’s vehicle.
We will keep you updated as we hear more on the condition of the two cyclists, and our thoughts are with them and their families as they work towards recovery. We will also let you know as we hear more results from the investigation of this crash, and whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved.
