Mathew Ferge and Ashley Steger Involved in Fatal SR-13 Car Accident
Two people were killed last week on St. Rd. 13 after a 26-year-old lost control of the vehicle she was driving, and overcorrected trying to come back onto the road.
Ashley Steger, the driver, was a resident of Arcadia, IN. Her passenger, Mathew Ferge, was a 24-year-old resident of McCordsville, IN. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Initial investigation revealed the victims were not wearing seat belts at the time of the 4 a.m. Sunday morning crash. Toxicology findings are still forthcoming for both occupants
Seat Belts Save Lives
It’s no secret that injuries and deaths are prevented with seat belt usage, yet we see so many accidents like this one where the occupants didn’t make use of the safety at their disposal.
Whether you’re riding a motorcycle and questioning the need for a helmet, or getting behind the wheel of a car and wondering whether or not you have to wear a seat belt, take a moment to reflect on all the lives lost because of the lack of safety devices such as these.
