Megabus and Semi Truck Accident on I-65
A chain reaction accident occurred early this morning on I-65 when a Megabus rear-ended a semi truck that was sitting in stopped traffic. The crash took place in the southbound lanes of I-65, at the 83 mile marker, near Edinburgh.
When the bus came up on the stopped traffic and didn’t brake in time, the semi truck it rear-ended hit the car in front of it, which then hit the car in front of that one. The chain reaction caused 19 people to need hospital transport, all of which were on the Megabus.
State police reported that none of the injuries were life threatening, and the Megabus company released a statement saying that safety is their number one priority and they are fully cooperating with the authorities for this investigation.
