Talk About Your Prescriptions Month
October is one of our favorite months of the year! Not only does the weather begin to cool off and the leaves start to change, but there are so many excellent awareness campaigns this month that we are thrilled to participate in.
One of the awareness campaigns that we work hard to promote during October is Talk About Your Medicines Month (formerly Talk About Prescriptions Month). The goal of this campaign is to encourage those who take prescription medicines to have an open dialogue with their doctors and pharmacists about the medications they take and to never be afraid to ask questions when they arise.
Part of the campaign’s goal this year is to push Medication Synchronization, which encourages pharmacies to align patients’ medications for pick up all on the same day. So if you take multiple medications, the pharmacy would align your prescriptions so that you are only required to make one trip to the pharmacy each month, and are also encouraged to schedule a meeting with the pharmacist in order to increase communication between you and your healthcare providers, decrease the amount of mistakes made with prescription medications, and help answer questions patients may have about the drugs they are taking.
Talk About Your Medicines Month is promoted by the NCPIE Coalition in an effort to work together to promote safe medicine use. Here at Wagner Reese, we hope to encourage everyone who takes prescription medications to communicate with your pharmacists and doctors in an effort to ensure that you are getting the best care possible and that you do not become the victim of a prescription medication mistake or a drug injury.
If you have suffered a drug injury as the result of medical negligence or a pharmaceutical error, give the attorneys at Wagner Reese a call for more information on how we can help you procure compensation for the injuries you have incurred.
