Man Injured in ATV Accident
One man was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured in an ATV accident last Sunday afternoon. The man, who has yet to be named, was off-roading at the Badlands Off Road Park in Attica, Indiana, when the vehicle flipped over backwards and landed on him. The man suffered a severe chest injury, but other injury information is not available at this time.
There were also two other off road vehicle injuries in the state over the weekend. One occurred when Joan McCoi lost control of her vehicle which resulted in her being treated for minor injuries at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. McCoi was not wearing a helmet at the time of her accident.
The other accident occurred when Christopher Harrod, a passenger on an ATV, was involved in a roll-over on a Palaris Razor ATV. The driver left the scene of the accident and was later charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury. It was also discovered that alcohol was involved in this crash.
Although off-roading can be safe, it can also be inherently dangerous, and mixing drugs or alcohol can be treacherous. While we are waiting for the report to be released, in the meantime, we wish the injured man well, and hope he makes a full recovery.
