7-Year-Old Killed in Farming Accident
The death of a 7-year-old boy is still under investigation after a tragic farming accident occurred in Shipshewana, Indiana last Saturday afternoon. The accident happened around 3:30 in the afternoon at the 4000 block of N. 450 W in Shipshewana.
According to the Sheriff’s report, the boy was Kevin Lambright, brother of 22-year-old Derek Lambright who was killed in a motor vehicle accident last November in LaGrange County. The accident was caused when the boy was sitting on a makeshift seat in the bucket of a skidloader, and the seat came loose, causing the boy to fall backwards onto the machine.
We are deeply saddened see this accident, and extend our deepest sympathies to the Lambright family. We urge you to use caution when using farming equipment, and never use equipment without proper safety protection, especially when these actions might be putting children at risk.
