Off-Duty Officer Injures Man in Drunk Driving Accident
An off-duty officer is responsible for the serious injury of a man, following an accident on I-65, near North Meridian St.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. when Lindsay Standeford, an off-duty airport police officer crashed into a car that was pulled over, getting a tire changed. The man changing the tire was Paul Hines, 58-year-old Indianapolis resident.
When Standeford struck the car, she pinned Hines between the car and the guardrail, causing him serious bodily injury. Hines was immediately transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Standeford was taken into custody and her BAC registered at .14%, almost twice the legal limit. Standeford is now facing class D felony charges.
