Semi Accident in Hancock County Construction Zone
Two construction workers remain in critical condition after a semi-truck caused an accident in a construction zone in Hancock County last Thursday.
Mark Evans, and Willie Pittman were both working in the construction zone when their truck was struck by the westbound semi, driven by Daniel Kebebe from Blacklick, Ohio. The accident occurred near State Road 9 in Greenfield, Indiana. The two workers were reportedly replacing reflectors on the road when the semi struck them.
According to witnesses, the traffic in the left westbound lane slowed down for the truck, but the semi truck, which was in the right lane, never slowed down. Both of the workers were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital, Pittman was taken by airlift.
Police are still investigating what caused the accident, and we hope to update you as we hear more on the condition of the workers.
