Mishawaka Doctor Arrested For Writing False Prescriptions
A doctor’s office in Mishawaka, Indiana has been closed indefinitely after the doctor was arrested on charges of trading drugs for sex.
Dr. Charles Myers’ arrest has come as a shock to both the nurses in his office, and many of his patients. Some patients have been seeing him as long as 30 years, and have expressed feelings that he would never be involved in the actions for which he has been accused.
The allegations against Myers claim he wrote around 150 false prescriptions for a patient, and then traded her the prescriptions for sex.
The shutdown of his office is now having devastating effects on many, forcing them to switch doctors, and find new medical care. The major problem with the shutdown is that none of the patients can access their medical records, which is making continuing care difficult to find, and forcing many to visit the emergency room, or search for prescription records at their local pharmacies.
The case is still under investigation, and we will continue to update you as we hear more information.
