Greenwood, Indiana resident, Derrick Means was arrested in late November after causing an accident that seriously injured two other Indiana residents. Greenwood Police Officers were attempting to stop Means on suspicion of DUI, but after Means initially stopped his car, he then sped off and ran through a red light. As he ran the light, he crashed into an oncoming vehicle.
The second car held Michael Brown, the driver, Vestina Grenzow, a passenger, and Grenzow’s 6-year-old child. The driver and adult passengers were both seriously injured and were immediately transported to Methodist Hospital with life threatening injuries. The child was not injured.
It was later determined that Means had a blood alcohol level of .234, three times the legal limit. Grenzow was treated for the injuries sustained and released several days later. Brown remains in the hospital with critical injuries.
