Indianapolis Home Damaged in SUV Crash
An Indianapolis family’s home was damaged for the eleventh time this week, after high-speed vehicles lost control in their neighborhood and crashed into their home.
How can this happen to one family, so many times? Well, McCalls have asked the same question, and they are pleading with the city to take action on their behalf and prevent future incidents.
In front of the McCall’s home is a set of railroad tracks. The accidents have happened as a result of drivers speeding across the tracks and subsequently losing control of their vehicles. Some vehicles have hit the fire hydrant in front of their home, some have hit the pole at the corner of the street, but several of the cars have run into their home, and even through their home.
The latest incident saw the McCall’s dining room destroyed as an SUV, missing them by only inches.
The city has taken minor precautions to ward off these incidents, but paint on the pavement and signage warning for speed reduction have proven ineffective. The McCalls know the city needs to take further precautions to protect them and their home from injury and damage. Calls for stop signs and rumble strips are among the discussions for how to solve this issue.
