School Bus Seat Belts Infographic

Steve Wagner

Over 17,000 children are injured each year in school bus accidents. New legislation is being proposed to introduce seat belts into all active school buses to ensure that children would be better protected in front and rear-end bus accidents.

There are pros and cons to this legislation, however. While some believe the seat belts could be life-saving, there is also no confirmed data that the seat belts would make a significant difference. Not only that, but the seat belts are extremely expensive to install. What do you think of this debate?
