Plant Explosion Injures Fifteen
An explosion at the New Hampshire Ball Bearings plant in Peterborough, New Hampshire injured 15 workers last Monday, and the cause of the explosion is unknown. The explosion occurred at 3:30 p.m. and blew out many of the windows on the ground floor of the plant. Though none of the injuries were said to be life-threatening, two of the employees were transported to other area hospitals, but no information was given regarding their condition. Seven of the fifteen employees were released from the hospital later on Monday evening.
A hazardous materials team was investigating the site of the explosion, and though there was no fire, a chemical leak or hazardous materials incident is believed to be the cause of the incident. We hope to update with further information when we know more about the cause of this incident and the condition of the workers who were injured and hospitalized.
