Indianapolis Daycare Owner Arrested After Children Suffer Suspected Drug Overdose
Indianapolis daycare owner Stephanie Gribble was arrested today after four children in her care were sent to the hospital suffering from what is suspected to be a drug overdose. The children, ranging in age from 11 months to 5 years, had difficulty walking, drooling and were staring into space. Investigators have not yet released the name of what drug or drugs the children had been given.
The Indianapolis Star reports that Gribble was operating the daycare illegally at the time of the overdoses and had been ordered to close the daycare in November of 2012 by Marion Superior Court Judge David Shaheed. Gribble had received multiple citations since 2008 for operating a daycare illegally.
If your child goes to a daycare facility, do you know how to find childcare inspection reports? A recent investigation by RTV6 recently found that most parents are confused as to how to research their child’s daycare provider. To make this easier, the Family and Social Services Administration Child Care Bureau posts inspection reports online at the FSSA Carefinder website.
