Johnson & Johnson Hysterectomy Device Recalled
Johnson & Johnson has asked surgeons to remove the use of the laparoscopic power morcellators used for hysterectomies, after a growing concern that the electronic surgical tools are raising the risk of spreading cancer from the uterus and other female organs into other areas of the body.
Until now, surgeons have used these devices to perform hysterectomies as well as treat the existence of fibroids by removing the growths or the entire uterus. The FDA is attempting to reduce the risk of spreading cancers by eliminating devices like these that are only aggravating the problem.
If you have had surgery performed with one of these devices, you could be eligible to receive compensation to cover the damages you have suffered.
