Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over 2014
Indiana is cracking down yet again. 2014’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is in full swing. Though we don’t have all the information from 2013 yet, the 2012 statistics for drunk driving accidents were alarmingly high, and we want to help raise awareness and promote efforts to curb drunk driving accidents, and hopefully, put a complete stop to them.
In 2012, alcohol-related accidents rose above 5000, resulting in 158 fatalities. Among those who were injured or killed, drivers age 21-24 have the highest rates of alcohol impaired crashes, with males in that age range at 31.4% and females at 11.1%.
Driving drunk or even buzzed can result in serious consequences, both emotionally as well as financially. You could be arrested, spend time in jail, pay serious fines, as well as court and legal fees, you could lose your license, and your insurance will skyrocket.
The Indiana government website offers several tips to help prevent drunk and buzzed driving, and we ask you to share these tips with your friends and family. You could save a life this year by helping to promote safe driving habits.
