National Dog Bite Prevention Week
May 19th – 25th is the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s (AVMA) National Dog Bite Prevention Week.
Did you know that over 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs every year? With accurate information and safety precautions, the majority of these incidents could be prevented!
Often, proper training and socialization of dogs, in conjunction with the education of those who interact with them, is enough to prevent most bite incidents. Teaching our children how to properly interact with dogs is of utmost importance, as at least half of all yearly dog bite injuries are inflicted on children.
Unfortunately, millions of people are injured every year as a result of dog bites, and this leaves dog owners responsible for the damages done by their pets. If you have been the victim of a dog bite, the Indiana law offices of Wagner Reese can assist you in recovering these damages and getting back on the road to recovery.
Wagner Reese wants to continue to raise awareness for this issue in hopes that people will make extra efforts in training their dogs and observing proper leash laws. With these precautions and with the education of all those who interact with dogs, we can make huge strides towards Dog Bite Prevention!
