Hit-and-Run Violator Awaits Trial in July
If you’ve been following along with us for a while, you may remember the tragic accident that occurred last Thanksgiving, a hit-and-run accident resulting in the death of 23-year-old Alex Trabert.
The 24-year-old woman, Morgan Mannix, being charged in connection with the death of Trabert is now awaiting jury trial, scheduled to happen in July of this year. Mannix admits to drinking on the night of the accident, stating she had consumed “maybe six beers” at the residence of a friend before attempting to drive back to her residence.
The pedestrian accident transpired around 2:30am, between 71st and 75th streets on Shadeland Avenue where Trabert was walking. Mannix told police she felt her car hit something, stopped to get out and look around, but got back in and kept driving when she didn’t see anything. Her pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 9th, and the jury trial will occur on July 17th.
