Bike to Work Day
This Friday, May 17th, marks one of Indy’s most exciting and environmentally conscious events: Bike To Work Day!
The speculation is that around 3500 bikers will be on Indianapolis roads that day, in an attempt to cut back on emissions and pollution, save energy, and get more people moving and exercising! The effort is larger than ever and participation will be city-wide.
Bike trains will begin at 6:30am and go until 6:30pm on the 17th, and events and fundraisers will be happening all over the streets of Indianapolis throughout the day. There will be complimentary breakfast and coffee available, as well as multiple outdoor dining options down Market Street for lunch. There will be a presentation from Mayor Ballard and other Indy VIP’s, as well as happy hour events and more!
If you would like to participate in this event, you can register online at Commuter Connect and start preparing for your Bike to Work Day!
If you choose not to participate in this event, Wagner Reese asks all Indianapolis citizens to assist in raising awareness for this cause, not only for the reasons already mentioned, but also for the safety of all those on bikes.
Remaining aware of bikers on the roadway is important every day of the week, but we hope that Bike to Work Day will remind drivers to share the road, be alert and give the right-of-way to bikers and pedestrians all over the city. Let’s help each other make a difference by ensuring the safety of our bikers this week!
If you have been involved in a bicycle or pedestrian accident in the past, the law offices of Wagner Reese are here to assist you in your recovery and help you raise awareness to prevent accidents like these from happening again.
