Tippecanoe County, IN Examines Fatal Car Accidents With In-Depth Study
Tippecanoe County, Indiana is taking some proactive steps to curb the number of fatal car accidents that happen each year on their roads.
WLFI.com reported that the Tippecanoe County Transportation Planning team has recently compiled an in depth study of all the fatal accidents that have occurred in the county over the past five years (77 fatalities in 64 wrecks), and they hope to use this information to determine potential common causes that can be eliminated or improved upon in the coming year.
Fatal wrecks, while frequently written off as the fault of the drivers, often include more factors than who was at the wheel of the car. Road conditions can play a major part in accidents, and one of the hopes of this study in Tippecanoe County is that they can improve on sections of their roadways that may not be as safe as they could be.
When drivers are faced with blind spots in the road, or when there are certain patches of road that are more drastically affected by the weather, these can have a huge impact on drivers, especially ones who are familiar with the roadways and drive them with more “comfort” than those who don’t know the roads as well.
If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident and believe that external conditions were to blame rather than a driver, you may be eligible for more compensation than you received from your insurance company.
