Man Killed at Indiana Foundry
A workplace death remains under investigation as a man fell from scaffolding onto a concrete floor in Tell City, Indiana last weekend.
The man, Bobby E. Felty of Owensboro, KY. was killed after he fell 55 feet and landed on the hard surface below. According the police report, Felty was not wearing any type of safety restraint while working on the scaffolding.
Felty was working on a job in the cupola furnace at the Waupaca Foundry in Tell City when the scaffolding accident occurred. First responders and the Perry County EMS were called in immediately, but Felty was pronounced dead at the scene.
Felty was a contractor with Steward Industrial, a contracting company out of Owensboro, KY, that had been hired on for the job at the foundry.
