Infant Dies at Zionsville Daycare
01/29/14 Update: Following the investigation, it was determined the infant died of natural causes, and no violations were found on behalf of the daycare.
Police were called around 10:30 am when the baby girl was found not breathing after a nap. She was pronounced dead after being taken to St. Vincent Hospital.
The baby is the daughter of a Zionsville police officer, so Indiana State Police have been called to investigate. The center is a licensed daycare with no complaints or violations reported.
Our hearts go out to the family of the infant during this tragic time. This is one of several daycare deaths in recent news. A 21-month-old boy was found not breathing in June at a daycare in Fishers, while a 5-month-old infant died in the care of a Carmel childcare center this past January.
