7 Dead in Fatal Semi Truck Accident on I-65 Near Roselawn
Four children and three adults died in a fiery three-vehicle crash on I-65 near Roselawn in Jasper County, Indiana late Thursday night. A semi truck crashed into an SUV which then forced it to crash into the back of another semi trailer. The SUV had been stopped for construction zone traffic when it was rear-ended by the truck.
Emergency crews extinguished the fire and found two deceased inside the SUV, but the rest of the vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee, was so badly damaged that it was impossible to tell if other victims were inside. Indiana State Police say that five more bodies were found once the vehicle was taken to Keener Township Fire Department for investigation. There were three adult victims ranging in age from 27-49, and four children. There were two five-year-olds, one seven-year-old, and a three-year-old.
The semi truck accident remains under investigation, but neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected to be a factor in this crash. For more information on the story, visit WTHR.
